Ground Round Pictures

Pictures of the building currently on the site. The holes in the roof are from the local Fire Department using the building for training.

Proposed 102-Room Hotel

The project consists of a 102-room Hampton Inn located on the corner of two major arterial roads (Amherst Street and Somerset Parkway). Currently there is a vacant restaurant, the Ground Round, on the site. The design and entitlement phase of the project is complete.

Closing on the parcel occurred on April 26th.

Demolition of the restaurant is anticipated to start May 19th and take two weeks, with demolition permits in hand and the 2-week state notification period starting on May 5th.
The design for the structure and foundations is complete and the application for the building permit will be submitted the week of May 6th.

Like other Olympia projects throughout New England, a major challenge with the Nashua facility was designing the hotel to ensure consistency with surrounding architecture and zoning regulations.

"We're particularly excited about this project because, not only did we not want to pursue a simple prototype design, we wanted to make every effort to add to the architectural appeal of the surrounding area," says Olympia President Jim Brady. "I'm confident that we've succeeded with both those important goals."
